Clinical Services

  • Access to appropriate medical services including consultants, pharmaceuticals, radiology and diagnostic imaging and other treatments.
  • Recognition of choices made by service user about therapists or practitioners
  • Supervision, assistance, encouragement , support to compliment and reinforce the intervention and rehabilitation planned by therapists in areas such as communication, life skills, self care and anger management.

Personal Care where required such as:

  • Toileting, teeth cleaning, shaving, nail care, showering
  • Dressing and grooming
  • Eating and nutritional needs
  • applying medical creams/ointments if needed.

Hotel Services Including:

Adequate nutritionally balanced meals appropriate to the dietary needs of every client.

Assistance with laundry

Assistance with cleaning

Provision of all household cleaning chemicals

Provision  of household furnishings when there have not been supplied by the client

Cooking and laundry equipment for those service users who are able to perform these function for themselves with or without supervision.

Lighting, heating, hot water and other utilities

Private Spaces for each service user in their sleeping arrangements and to entertain visitors

Assistance as required with all aspects of personal and social life in a manner which promotes  individual autonomy, self esteem and identification and achievement for each service user goals.

The fostering and maintenance of relationships important to the service users sense of identity and participation in the life of the family/whanau, friends and community.

Access also provided to support needs assessment and service co-ordination and behavioural services via psychologists and psychiatrists.

Vocational ServicE 

The core aim of this programme, in line with the Ministry of Social Development's directive is to encourage each service user to achieve where possible, their personal goals and aspiration for a normal life and to mix with the community. this could be paid employment of by a special activity  or both.

With this in mind the Day Progamme support Workers and involved in taking service users to many different activities in their choice, and helping others to find paid employment.

The commercial arm of Kaurilands has a link on the ABOUT US page. Service users also work in the gardens at the centre itself or in the arts and craft studio, or horse riding, or sewing, knitting, farm-work, socialising to name but of few of the activities the service users are involved in.

On site, there is a large spa pool and an activities barn allowing the service users plenty of scope to invite others in to socialise or enjoy their company.
